Happy 2011

Wow....entering yet another year! I don't know who actually reads my posts. Not too many because I don't hear much complaining about me updating this blog every other year LOL. Here are some snow pics. If you know me well, I need the temp to be at LEAST 80 degrees for me to be content. So you can imagine how much I loved our weather last week.

HORRIBLE BLOGGER FOR SURE

Over a year has passed...where does time go? WOW!! Well, the year has been a good one. Jayda is amazing, I learn a lot from her every day...patience mainly. She starts Pre-K next week. She missed the Kindergarten deadline by 29 days. I am actually grateful as she will get some much needed tools in the Pre-K class! She will go 3 days a week, along with her swimming lesson 2 days a week. Busy girl. No fall activities planned for now as we want to adjust. I am thinking karate in January?? She has a lot of energy to waste!

I am doing amazing. I love my friends and my life. Work keeps me busy and I volunteer with King County Superior Court. We have had an awesome summer of seeing friends and visiting new places (Remlinger Farms) and of course spending time with family! We were all at Leavenworth for 4th of July. Beautiful spot to camp (or cabin), good food, hot weather and fun memories made!

Summer fun

I am always thinking of fun things to do with Jayda. Someone recommended Northwest Trek! LOVED IT!!! We went on a perfect day....cool in the morning (some mist) and then got warm in the afternoon. All of the animals were out and we had a Bison stick his head in our tram (no windows). The tram ride was about an hour long and held Jayda's attention!

We have had an awesome summer....lots of walks and playing! My aunt's yard is perfect for Jayda...we have her pool set up and it has ample shade! This heat has been kind of tough on her ezcema which is not the fun part of summer!

Here are some pics from NW Trek! Hope all is well with everyone and thank you for reading!

Fun Fun Fun

Well folks here we go. May was an exciting month. We boarded Amtrak and headed down to Southern California to see my brother Darin. Mom, Dad and my nephew Blake came along on this adventure. Jayda was amazing on the train. I usually am not one to brag about my child, but I will say that she simply amazes me more each day. She has become a little "human" LOL I have her busy in gymnastics (Little Gym), swim lessons and pre-school. I guess I groom her to be busy like me. We do enjoy downtime where we simply put on PJs and have quiet time. Jayda plays very well by herself and loves arts and crafts and of course everything is now Princess theme and Polly Pockets! I bought her some Tinker Toys (like the ones I grew up with) and they came in hard, pink plastic. We had fun building! June is looking to be busy with already attending an out-of-state wedding, upcoming graduation parties and family get-to-gathers. I will try and post more. We are all happy and hope the same for you all!!

Busy, but good times!

Ok, so I noticed my last post was in February?? Where does time go? We are halfway into April. Busy times in our household. Jayda is enjoying swimming lessons and still attending her pre-school (Co-op...Gma is a student also) and bringing home projects and learning sign language. I am always amazed at her memory of song lyrics etc. This age has got to be one of the best! Jayda is like a "little" girlfriend who can just lift me up! We talk about Princess stuff a lot, take walks to look for ducks and she loves down time of cuddling and chatting away about life. Learning so much from this kid! Her eczema is at a "manageable" stage in that we deal with the little flare-ups and keep moving. Unfortunately, her allergies have not become better. Little foods like garlic, coconut, sunflower make throwing food together quite tricky. Labels, labels, labels...read them thoroughly and end up putting half the food back on the shelf. The good news? Whole foods and a kid that loves carrots, strawberries, and other veggies!!
Here is Jayda in her usual attire painting Easter eggs. Gotta say that this year was the first year I could sit back and let her do her thing!!

Good times, spring weather in Feb

I cannot get over this weather we are having. Spring-like weather, first Daffodil came out today. Jayda has been doing so good on her balance bike that she got for Christmas. I had noticed that a friend of ours had their little guy on a balance bike and he was so good on the bike. Jayda was hesitant at first but these last few days she has been going faster and now puts her legs up to coast! This bike teaches to feel the balance and then go straight to a bigger two-wheel bike! Yay!! No training wheels (well, we hope)
February has been a busy month...one bridal shower, one wedding and two baby showers. Fun times. Work has been keeping me busy. One hearing lined up after another. While I hate being away from Jayda, I love the challenge of my job each day. Jayda is enrolled in pre-school and loves her new friends and the field trips (gymnastics last week.) We look forward to swim lessons coming up and possible ice-skating lessons? Jayda went out on the ice for the first time last Saturday and loved every minute. It took me awhile to let go of her and trust the "walker" in front of her, but she did it!! She took off! Here is a picture taken of a 3-year old sitting quietly at a wedding we attended.

February already!

So much to say. Today was an extra special day. I attended a bridal shower for one of our newer friends! So good to be around friends and meet new ones. I met a mother today and within minutes we found that we had a lot in common when it comes to child asthma and eczema! So often I feel like I am the only person that has ever had to battle these childhood "hiccups". I am thankful for those that have experienced some of the same things (sleepless nights, no processed foods, asking every restaurant about ingredients etc.) I am happy to report that Jayda is coming along better every day. We still are working through the asthma, but I have been told that with age, there are more options on how to control this.
Today I went and saw one of my best friends, new baby. I held this baby girl throughout dinner tonight and fell in love. How they grow up. I looked at my 3 1/2 year old and thought "was she ever this small?" While I loved holding this baby and loved her little coo's and tiny little bum/bottom, I can't say enough how I love no diapers, wipes, bottles, paci's, blankets etc. But new parents must experience everything to the fullest! Each stage is so valuable! I remember patiently waiting for Jayda's first smile....now I am patiently awaiting her first peddle on a bike!
Here is a pic taken on New Years....we struggle on deciding "appropriate clothing" and Jayda insists on wearing her snow boots...anticipating snow like Leavenworth (Christmas)

Children are amazing!

It is amazing how one little child can redirect your life. It is amazing how much an adult can learn from a little child. You learn not to be selfish, you learn patience (a lot), you learn to fall in love again each morning, you learn forgiveness (sorry bout the wet diaper on too long J), you learn to be humble and most of all, you learn to be thankful!!
